Service Learning Stage 1: Investigation

Outcomes of Online Survey
We conducted an online survey started from 8th October 2019 until 10th October 2019 through Google Form. The total number of responses that we managed to gain for our online survey from our community in Students’ Residential Yayasan al-Bukhary is 36. Here are the results for the online survey conducted.

  1. Personal Details

Figure 1 Religion of respondents in Inasis YAB Community
Among 36 respondents in Inasis YAB, there's 29 Muslim respondents and 7 Non-Muslim respondents. This shows that in the community of Inasis YAB, Muslim is the majority while Non-Muslim is the minority.

Figure 2 Gender of the respondents in Inasis YAB Community
Among 36 respondents, there are 27 female respondents and 9 male respondents. From where we can see that the number of female respondents is more than the male respondents. This is probably because of the number for UUM female students usually outnumbered the UUM male students based on the data provided by the UUM official website.

       2.      Close-ended Questions
Figure 3 Knowledge of the respondents to the distribution of estate the property after death without a will
Figure 4 Knowledge of the respondents about the small estate
Based on the chart, it can be observed that among 36 respondents, there are 21 respondents that have no knowledge about the distribution of the estate after death without a will while there are 15 respondents that have the knowledge about how to distribute the property after death without a will. This shows that most of the respondents are still lack of awareness on the importance of having this knowledge that might help them in the future.

Based on the chart, it can be observed that there are 19 of respondents have the knowledge regarding the concept of small estate whilst there are 17 respondents whom do not know what is a small estate. This might be due to the reason that the respondents are not exposed to this kind of knowledge before.

Figure 5 Knowledge of the respondents to the procedure of distributing the small estate
Based on the chart, it can be seen that there are 28 respondents whom do not know about the procedure for the distribution of the small estate while only 8 out of the 36 respondents have a knowledge about the procedure of the distribution of small estate. Knowledge on the procedure for distribution of small estate will definitely helps the respondents to understand what is the right process to distribute a small estate.

Figure 6 Aspect of the distribution of small estate that the respondents wish to know more
Based on the figure, we can see that the majority of respondents wished to know more about the procedure to distribute the small estate which has received 27 responses. Whilst there are 14 responses made by the respondents who wished to know about the requirements that they need to fulfill before they can go for small estate distribution. The other 2 responses concerning the conditions for distribution of small estate and the concept of small estate itself respectively.
